I don't know what he put in his bar application materials but even his 20-year-old armed car jacking conviction seems to be well in his past. https://www.currentaffairs.org/2017/08/nothing-will-ever-be-enough

Helps to have a Seth Waxman in your corner. But it also sounds like he really earned Waxman's respect.

Dumb to go to law school.

Also hard to feel sorry when people get dinged for far less than carjacking (e.g. irresponsible debt).

He did 9 years in prison. Sounds like the facts of his case were pretty serious. I don't feel sorry for him.

Losers lose. In this case we're talking about a felon which means he loses even more.

I don't really care much if this guy gets admitted one way or the other - it seems like he has a lot going for him anyway (though I don't know how well his poetry or speaking engagements pay), but if Stephen Glass can't practice law, why should this guy? Stephen Glass has no felony conviction and there were no real victims from what he did (except for people who might have insisted on refunds on their New Republic subscriptions).

This guy carjacked somebody, a violent crime. On the flip side, it happened before he was 18 (whereas Stephen Glass was well past 18 when he wrote those bogus news stories), so maybe it shouldn't affect him at this point in his life.

8 years seems like a long time for a juvenile carjacking conviction but if he spent 14 months in solitary confinement he must not have been too well behaved in prison.
