We want to start a project. A project to mobilize the unhappilyemployed to advocate for causes. A project to assist those who are unhappy with their current career situation, so they can advocate for the causes they entered the law to support. Our goal is a "win-win", a win for the worthy causes and a win for the fulfilling careers created. We want to connect with more such people, but we are having a hard time finding places to advertise. Job boards are not good for us, we do not have immediate jobs to offer. Craigslist categories are to vague. Any ideas? Any groups helping in this way? Any places online where we can "freely announce", what we want to do, to selective receptive audience? Especially a place where can we find "founders", people who would like to help start hubs, non-profit groups and law centers? Please help if can. Thank you.

So what's the catch? Unemployed chumps get to provide free legal work for 501(c)(3)s?

If you're connecting unemployed attorneys with actual paying legal gigs from these non-profits than that's cool and I wish you well.

What's your business model? How are you making money off this service?

where's the money coming from?

worthy causes still require resources and people can't volunteer forever. If you can raise money, the rest will follow. If you ain't got no money take your broke ass home

The money is coming from YOU. We have friends in the Silicon Valley, and you kind folks give them more money than they can spend.

Ask the Alliance Defending Freedom folks how they do it.

Slightly longer:

Set up a free as in truly free scholarship for a long training seminar in a nice location. To get the scholarship the targets have to fill out a work history and, critically, some essays to describe their genuine personal interests. Interview the likely candidates.

Why a long seminar? Only someone truly committed, and financially able to donate the time and effort to achieve your goals will be able and eager to take time off like that.

"Where can we advertise" Is the question we came here to ask. Any help with that? Sorry if we made things unnecessarily more complicated. This is our first time here, and we don't understand the whole process. We just wanted to ask a question! We thought we were not supposed to talk about our group! We Centers CLUB! is a self-assistance, self-help, self-support non-profit charitable group. With a have structure/non-structure something like AA Alcoholics Anonymous, A group helps its members start non-profit centers, in this case non-profit law centers. The goal, is to help people connect with like minded people. Then start a non-profit law center, that will provide a well salaried career, while they advocate for their causes! We don't plan to make money off of anyone.

Hi OP thanks for the info.

So I'm just trying to get the model straight in my mind.

1. WCC connects people with attorneys who share their ideals, for example no-kill shelters.
2. These newly connected people start a non-profit law center with the aim of pushing no-kill shelter legislation in NJ.
3. End result, attorney gets to advocate for no-kill shelters on behalf of non-profit law center and the idealists run the center/do PR/ etc.
4. Funding for the non-profit law center's operations including salaries is up to the connected idealists who will figure that out on their own. You're just the connections broker.

My question is how do you keep your doors open? Are you VC'd backed or bootstrapped? I imagine you'd need to start charging someone something at some point in order to continue operations. And to keep the investment dollars coming in. I'm just really curious about your business model.

Perhaps I can start a non profit to help your non profit create centers for non profits... in other words, you need to entice people to engage with you. You need to pay people to organize the endeavor, and have particularlized skills to get people to use the service, like grant writers.
