Hey everyone,

As a bit of background, I'm a senior associate in NYC biglaw. I've worked with and mentored a number of junior attorneys over the years, and over time, I found myself giving the same advice over and over as new classes of associates joined the firm. So I decided to start writing it all down on a blog: https://ThisLawyerLife.com

This week, I have been posting a series of tips for summer associates/interns. If you are starting or have started a legal job this summer, I hope you check it out and find it useful. In addition, every Friday this summer, I will be posting responses to questions from current summer associates and interns. Just email me at thislawyerlife@gmail.com if you have a question you want me to answer on the site.

I'll also try to check back here relatively frequently in case there are questions posted to this thread.

Great advice.

I'm a midlevel and I still utilize Westlaw staff for free research and have my assistant proof read documents for me.

there's a law school 10 minutes from my office that provides free westlaw/lexis (i.e. no password required). Great way to keep the bills down

Thanks! I still follow a lot of these tips myself, and learned some of them the hard way. :)
