Coworker showed me that. Good article. But those ADAs are exactly the kind I am speaking about. In fact, I may have met him at some point over the years.

Every DANY assistant that I remembered was a total fratbro, conservative in a different way from how upstate da's are.

I wouldn't expect a rank and file prosecutor to be anything left of a Blue Dog. Having liberal luminaries in DA jobs for big cities always seemed a bit funny/misleading.

Anecdotal Information Of Almost No Value:

The last two prosecutors I faced at trial (both Hispanic, both approx. 20 years my junior, and both employees of the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office) ...

1. A female who (I learned) attended the same high school I did. At the time I was enrolled at this campus, there were maybe 3, 4 or 5 Latino students (in a student body composed of approx. 1500 pupils). At the time she attended my alma mater, however, about 60% of the students were Hispanic.

When I entered her office to discuss a discovery issue, I noticed that the most prominent and noticeable displays in her work space were framed front pages of newspapers trumpeting the election, and reelection, of Barack Obama. This stuck in my head b/c, w/o trying to be offensive, I was tempted to ask her what she thought of our 44th president's performance in office. I decided to leave it alone, however, and after learning she had worked on both Obama's '08 and '12 campaigns, instead politely noted that his ascendancy to the White House was certainly a historic event.

2. A male who created a personal FB page that very much seems to indicate he has political aspirations. Featured prominently are a pair of photographs of this DDA, his father (a prominent SoCal attorney in his own right), and Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor. A little further down is a copy of an article, about 10 or 11 years old. It contains a photograph of this prosecutor (as an undergrad) doing internship work for a Chicano House member, who was among the first Democrats in the 90's to beat a long entrenched Republican, in what used to be solid red Orange County. This prosecutor's most recent post on his page is an image of Pres. Obama walking heroically off into a sunset that very much looks like the symbol of his presidential campaigns.

All of what I described on this gentleman's social media page is open to the public. One does not need to be his "friend" to see it. It's a very public display.
