Do MBE practice questions, but read every explanation for the answers, those are what your essay answers will look like written out. Take the second to last day completely off. Do not touch a book. Then the final day before the test just spend the morning reviewing your weakest subjects then put the books away.

Do your best to get good night sleeps and get on the sleep scheudle you'll be on during the 2 test days.

The big thing to remember that this isn't the time to cram. You'll do much better if you aren't super fried walking into the test. People studying over 7-8 hrs a day the last week are just wasting their time.

I have only been putting in about 4-5 hours a day the past 10 days or so, and probably will just continue to bang out MBE questions this week. Planning on doing 50 or so questions a night until Monday.

I have definitely neglected the essays, but I'm hoping I can adequately bs/make law up on MEE-only topics where I will still get some points. The MPT I am not worried about at all, and haven't given them much attention during my prep. Did some practice ones last year with zero prep and did very well.

don't neglect to practice essays.

For the past several years, the mantra has been MBE, MBE, MBE. test takers have focused on the MBE far more than the essays, figuring that a high enough score on the MBE will be sufficient to carry them over. The trend in the last few years is that average MBE scores have been rising whereas the overall pass rate has been dropping. Despite what common wisdom says, practicing essays is important

I disagree. I think it is a much better use of the limited time to study the mbe practice test answers. Most elegantly state the rule, which the poster can copy verbatim in his/her essays.

The reason that the UBE is such an easier test is that it only covers about 2 other topics on the essays than appear on the MBE. So when you're studying the mbe practice questions answers you are getting exposed to how the testers may phrase parts of the practice question.

Why waste an hour writing out an essay that focuses on one or two areas of law in a short fact pattern. when you could be exposed to 60 different short fact patterns covering almost all the areas of law you'll be tested on?

and that's precisely why pass rates are going down despite average MBE going up.

I don't care about the subject matter. If by now OP doesn't know his/her sh*t, it's too late. Hopefully he/she has drilled a gazillion multiple choice questions already. Spend an hour or so focusing on writing style, on making sure that you can answer the question as written, in the way examiners want to see. There's a world of difference between knowing (MBE) and explaining (MEE)

That could be the absolute worst way you could spend your time. Early on the bar review that can make sense. But now in the home stretch you don't want to expose yourself to people asking questions and restating the law incorrectly.
