I have wanted to be a prosecutor for quite awhile now, but haven't had much luck. I did not grow up with a father who is a judge or any of the other prerequisites needed in my state. Regardless, a pretty high ranking prosecutor I know has my resume and mentioned I should be hearing something soon.

I obviously do not want to get my hopes up, so I am not putting anything into it since I would likely still need to go through interviews and have the upper echelon of the office like me too. Is anyone familiar with the hiring practices within these offices and whether I should actually expect some good news for once.

Uh which county? IIRC, you're up north, so the pay isn't terrible. Besides trials, I hear the hours are solid.

The county would actually be one of the lowest paying counties in the state, but it is the biggest office and one that always has plenty of opportunity for trial experience. You should be able to figure it out from that.
